In the Summer of 1999, the only dwelling in the Grandview Park community was an old Pioneer’s cabin located on Lot #37.

A developer, Brad Hajim, who had offices in New York City, had the vision of opening up Grandview Park as a community.  Brad's partner at that time was Lisa Simpson, who was the onsite,  hands-on person (and still is), who worked with those contractors who put in the roads, plotted the lots, dug in the holding ponds near the entryway for the water runoff .

The first home construction was on Lot #30 to Tom and Robbie Stanley, which started during September of 1999.  Later that year, and into 2000, another builder, Jerry Pierce, was contracted to build 4 Spec homes.  These were located on lots 41-35-54-42.  Soon, more developers were building in Grandview Park, and full time residents, as well as front range owners started to fill the community.  Out of state owners have come from Texas, Alabama, and Kansas. One was from South Carolina, but later moved to Kansas. (more credit to Kansas).   Since that first home, we now have many homes built and are inhabited by both year-around residents, and residents who enjoy their homes on the weekends.  Since many of the land-owners own multiple sites, at this time we have quite a few homeowners involved in the community.

The Homeowners Association was turned over to the community and its residents during the summer of 2000. Our first meeting, with election of officers, was held at Stillwater Community Church on Hwy 34, about a mile south of Grandview Park.  Election of officers is not the term that should be used as anyone who volunteered was put into that position, and with the few residents attending, we were glad to have filled all the positions.

Since its inception, the HOA has:

o       Formed the Design Review Committee to manage the construction of new homes, as well as additions to existing homes ensuring that they meet the Association’s Covenants.

o       Formed a committee to dress up the entryway with new landscaping, rocks, and new trees planted.  This took place during the 2002 and 2003 years.  A former resident, Scott Turan (Grand Lake Electric) purchased and installed the solar light system we have on the Grand View Park sign in the entryway.  The HOA paid $2700.00 for the light and Scott donated his time for the installation.

o       Formed the “Tree Committee” to manage the pine beetle attack and ensure that new trees are being planted.

The HOA remains an active part of Grandview Park.  Our community is beautiful,  and we make great efforts to maintain its beauty.
